What is a good decor & bedding theme for boy and a girl that share a room?

We are moving which means our kids will no longer have their own rooms. My 6 yr old daughter and 2 yr old son will have to share a room. Any good ideas for a theme rm that they will both like?

Obviously there will have to be compromise. Each should have their own “territory” but play areas will probably have to be shared. This link will walk you through the process.

green or yellow are good non-gender specific colors to paint. Is there a movie or character that they both like? “Finding Nemo,” “Cars,” Elmo? If so, then you can find accessories like curtains, sheets, lamps, wallpaper border, etc. in that theme to fill out the decor.

It probably won’t matter much to your son at this point, since he’s so young, but your daughter will definitely be more opinionated! You might be able to please them both by using bright colors and geometric shapes. I’d avoid any pastel colors, since most of them look too “boy” or “girl”. Also, most kids like animals, so maybe they’d prefer that (or anything else they both like). Have fun with it … and Good Luck!
